Resources Behind the Scenery of America’s National Parks
 

August 13th – 15th, 2008

·        3days/ 2 nights

·        Fully furnished accommodations at the Schoodic Education and Research Center, Winter Harbor, Maine

·        Meals, on-site transportation, books, and materials provided

·        2 C.E.U.s arranged through the University of Maine

·        Open to all grade K–9 teachers in New England

·        Meet scientists studying Maine’s unique environment

·        Explore the wide range of NPS resources available to teachers across the U.S.

·        Visit an offshore island and learn how Maine’s earliest artists, native history, and coastal environments can all intersect in your classroom.

·        Develop and glean language arts, math, science, and social studies activities to take back to your classroom

·        Some participants can qualify to attend Acadia’s 4th-8th grade residential program (optional, see www.nps.gov/acad/eeweb/programs/seaprogram.htm for information on this program)

·        Partial and full scholarships and some stipends available

·        Cost is $450.00

·        Limited to 20 participants
